Trademarks are divided into word marks, figurative marks, and combination marks.
(1) Those registered only in texts are called word / stylized word marks;
(2) Those registered only as graphics are called figurative marks;
(3) Those with both text and graphics are called combined marks.
Both registered and unregistered trademarks can be used for the mark of trademark declaration.
The validity period of a registered trademark is 10 years. If a registered trademark needs to be used continuously after the expiration date, an application for renewal of registration shall be applied for within one year before the expiration date.
The whole process would take about 8 to 14 months for straightforward registrations. An application may subject to formality check, substantive examination, opposition, appeal or Ex Parte hearing. We will follow through until the completion of registration and update you along the way.
There could be several possible reasons that the application was being rejected. You may then choose to appeal (with additional fees), or perform modification on your mark before filing a new application.
